B A C K G R O U N D

Elbaz's history is your generic orphan story. Living in the Morroc orphanage with his older brother since he could remember, he lived his whole childhood in poverty. During their trying times, his brother would always protect him from harm. In turn, Elbaz looked up to him and respected him greatly, a role model in his eyes. Unfortunately, when Elbaz was eight, his older brother was adopted. Their separation was unstoppable, the younger brother was sure he was never going to see him again.

Years later, after getting kicked out of the orphanage at an "acceptable" adult age (fourteen), he wandered into the Thieve's Guild. However, he was immediately kicked out due to his young age. Not discouraged at all, Elbaz simply lived on the streets and decided to try his hand at stealing for a living. It was difficult, and at first he'd almost always get caught (and punished, he still has a few scars to show). The next few months were hard, and without a home or a decent meal, he felt like giving up. Finally, around the age of fifteen he decided to take up odd jobs to raise money so he could live a better life. On the day his eighteenth birthday, he attempted to join the thief guild once again.

It took all of his effort to prove himself worthy to join, but he was accepted because of his pick-pocketing skills that he had honed over his years on the streets. He trained in thief ways, improving his ability to steal, hide and wield a dagger. Eventually, he worked his way up to Rogue status at the age of twen, his proficiency in mugging and ganking.

While wandering between the road between Morroc and Prontera, Elbaz encountered his brother, who attacked him, due to a misunderstanding. Unable to convince his brother of his identity, he escaped with only an ounce of his life and a fly wing firmly in hand. Today, Elbaz refuses to believe this incident and his brother exist.

Years pass, Elbaz avoids Prontera and anywhere near it, turning to his rogue home in Comodo. Besides gambling, drinking and living the pleasurable life to the fullest, he continued to improve his skills at the guild. Losing and gaining friends and enemies, making himself wanted in Morroc for one murder (as a guild mission) and fraud, in Comodo for debt and minor counts of thieving in other Rune Midgard cities. He isn't the MOST wanted, but his head has a price. When he was twenty-four, his guild smuggled fire arms into Morroc from the Swarzwald Republic, he managed to get a pistol for himself from the supplies. Shortly after harming a blacksmith in Prontera with it, it was taken away from him ~~with a great bit of his pride as well~~.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

For a rogue, Elbaz can be pretty no-nonsense when it comes to saving his own neck. This means he does take risks, but when the chances are pretty well out weighing him, he takes a step back. This doesn't make him a coward, but only gives him a chance to tackle the situation later. When first meeting him, he can be relatively friendly. He can also be an asshole to people who get on his case (even his friends, but in that 'friend' way). Easily amused, he gets a good laugh at other people's expense, these are mostly practical jokes. If he really tries, he can be nice when he needs to be, because being an ass all the time would get him in trouble more often then he'd like. Elbaz's usually in an agreeable mood if his day has been going right, or he's throughly drunk. Gambling is one of his biggest weaknesses, which is the reason why he doesn't return to Comodo very often anymore.
